Boiler work is a specialised job but there are some problems you might be able to solve yourself.
Boiler power supply
If your boiler doesn’t appear to be on, check your home power supply by turning on another appliance. If this works then check that your boiler is plugged in and turned on.
Heating and temperature
If you notice that your home is unusually cold, it might be a thermostat issue. Check that your thermostat is on the desired temperature and that the central heating boiler programmer is on.
Boiler gas supply
If you think there might be something wrong with your boiler gas supply, try turning on another gas appliance. If there’s no gas coming through, contact your supplier.
Boiler pressure
If you think your boiler pressure is wrong, look at your boiler manual to find out what it should be and check it. If it’s not correct, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for restarting it.
Boiler pilot light
If your boiler’s pilot light goes out, you might be able to follow the manufacturers instructions for relighting it. If this doesn’t work then there might be a problem with your gas supply.
