Worcester boilers are one of the most popular systems in the UK and this is because of their fantastic efficiency and reliability.
In fact, a homeowner in Shropshire has discovered what’s believed to be the oldest boiler still working in Britain. The WEC Firefly was installed in 1973 and has been heating the three bedroomed property ever since.
Despite modern boilers now surpassing its efficiency, owner Marton Hayes says it has been in good working condition for 39 years.
With energy prices on the rise and many people in fuel poverty, it’s important to have a boiler that you trust and know will be fully functional for years without a hitch. As the cost of repairs and services can rise to £200 a time, ensuring quality should be at the top of your agenda.
Worcester boilers, like other modern A-rated systems, provide this security to every home. With a new boiler you will:
- Reduce your energy bills by up to £300 a year with an efficient system
- Keep your home warmer in the winter as more fuel is burned to create heat
- Cut the risk of a boiler breakdown with an efficient boiler that will live for years without a hitch
- Slash your home’s carbon footprint and help the Government meet EU targets
Mr Marton will now replace the 39 year old boiler, but will stick with Worcester boilers for the foreseeable future by installing a Greenstar CDi gas boiler.
He said: “I moved into the property with my wife and four children back in 1986 and, having continued to service the boiler annually, we have experienced no problems other than the odd replacement spare part.
“I have chosen a Worcester gas combi boiler as the replacement, due to the excellent service and reliability given by the Firefly, which has certainly stood the test of time.”
Worcester boilers join other top boiler manufacturers as the nation’s favourites, including Bosch.
Speaking about Worcester’s reliability, Martyn Bridges, says: “We were pleased to hear that Mr Hayes’ Firefly boiler has given him and his family such good service and are sure the replacement boiler will prove to be just as reliable.
“Having been established in the UK for 50 years, Worcester is a name our customers can count on for reliability and technical support, and this latest discovery is a great example of how our extensive product testing and field trials result in products that are durable and long-lasting.”
Combi boilers have grown in popularity and are the UK’s most popular heating installation. With excellent efficiency and the opportunity to have hot water whenever required, they serve the purpose of many homes.
