Combi Boiler Information :- Combination Boiler

A combi (or combination boiler) is a compact and highly efficient unit giving all the heating and hot water you need, with significant savings on running and installation costs. Combi boilers now account for half of the domestic boilers installed in the UK every year.

The Upside:

· Water is heated as you use it thus you can save considerably on domestic heating bills.
· No need for a water cistern in the loft to store water (so no risk of freezing or flooding).
· There is also no need for a cylinder or the various linking pipework found with other boilers (saves space and money).
· Excellent water pressure for showers (also hot and cold water at all outlets).
· Ideal for smaller dwellings where space can be a problem.

The Downside:

· Higher system pressure which may seek out leaks.
· No tank so no extra water in emergencies.

Why are Condensing Combination Boilers Better?

A condensing combination boiler is more efficient due to its ability to extract more heat from the flue gases normally lost to the environment through the flue system.

Top Energy Saving Advice:

Save energy by baking an extra dish or cooking entire meals in the oven at the same time.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

New Government regulations (Part L) require that from the 1st of April 2005 all new boiler installations must be of the 'high efficiency' condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this law.
