A combination boiler is a compact unit that is very efficient in giving all the heating and hot water you could need. It brings with it significant savings on running and installation costs. Combination Boilers now account for more than half of all domestic boilers sold in Great Britain every year.

A combination boiler does not store domestic hot water. Rather than a conventional heating and hot water system which stores domestic hot water, a combi boiler heats water directly from the cold mains as you use it. That means that there is no hot water cylinder and no tank in the loft which means less risk of freezing and flooding. There is also none of the linking pipe work.

Hot water costs can account for up to 60% of a typical domestic fuel bill so by using a combi boiler you can significantly lower your cost as it heats the water only when you need it. Also without the hot water cylinder, water cistern and pipework you can save a great deal of space.

A combi also supplies hot water at mains pressure, giving you exhilarating power showering without the need for a pump. On average a shower uses considerably less water than a typical bath so the savings on hot water costs and water consumption can be significant.

A condensing combi boiler is more efficient due to its ability to extract more heat from the flue gases normally lost to the environment through the flue system.

Energy Saving Advice:

If you activate the "sleep" function of your home office equipment (PC, fax, printer, scanner, monitor) they will automatically power down when not in use.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

New Government regulations (Part L) require that from the 1st of April 2005 all new boiler installations must be of the 'high efficiency' condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this law.
