Combi Boiler Information – Combi Boiler Diagram

A combination boiler (or combi) is a compact and highly efficient unit giving all the heating and hot water you need, with significant savings on running and installation costs. It also eliminates the need to store hot water. This means that there is no hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard, no water cistern (tank) in the loft and no of the connecting pipe work. Combination Boilers are becoming increasingly popular and now account for more than 50% of domestic boilers sold in Great Britain every year.

This has a number of Advantages:

It can save money: A combination boiler heats water directly from the cold mains as you use it. It is easy to install and does not require the tank, cylinder and pipework. This can reduce hot water costs significantly which can account for up to 60% of a typical domestic fuel bill.

It can save space: A combination boiler is perfect for smaller homes that do not have that much space. If you wish to convert your loft, the combi boiler will make things significantly easier. Most Combi boilers can be wall mounted in the kitchen or utility room.

Excellent for dwellings that have a regular demand for hot water: If you live in a home with a lot of people the demand for hot water will be regular and a combination boiler will provide you with hot water unlike a traditional boiler that requires you to wait until the tank’s water is refilled and reheated. This can be very inconvenient.

Combination Boilers supply water at mains pressure: A combination boiler provides hot water at mains pressure which allows you to have a strong shower instead of having to fill a bath. This will also decrease your energy bills.

Why use a Condensing Combination Boiler?

A condensing combination boiler is more efficient due to its ability to extract more heat from the flue gases normally lost to the environment through the flue system.

Top Energy Saving Tip:

If you are looking to upgrade your computer, you should get a Laptop instead of a traditional PC. This is because they run off a lower wattage they are far more energy efficient and use less electricity.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

New Government regulations (Part L) require that from the 1st of April 2005 all new boiler installations must be of the 'high efficiency' condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this law.
