Combi Boiler Information – Boiler Combination E G M Spare

A combination boiler (or combi) is a compact and highly efficient unit that gives all the heating and hot water you need, with significant savings on running and installation costs. It is normally wall mounted on the wall of the kitchen.

Unlike a conventional heating and hot water system, a combi boiler system does not store domestic hot water. It heats water directly from the cold mains - as you use it. There's no hot water cylinder, no water cistern in the loft (and so less risk of flooding and freezing), and none of the linking pipework.

You not only save space, but also reduce hot water costs. Hot water costs can account for up to 60% of a typical domestic fuel bill.

Combination boilers also supply hot water at mains pressure, which gives you exhilarating power showering without the need for a pump. A shower uses considerably less water than a typical bath on average so the savings on hot water costs and water consumption can be significant.

Condensing Combination Boilers

A condensing combination boiler is more competent due to its ability to extract more heat from the flue gases usually lost to the environment through the flue system.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

New Government regulations (Part L) require that from the 1st of April 2005 all new boiler installations must be of the 'high efficiency' condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this law.
