Combi Boiler Information – Boiler Combination Condenser WorcesterA combination boiler (or combi) is a compact and highly efficient unit giving all the heating and hot water you need but with significant savings on running and installation costs over other variants. Combination boilers do the work of both a central heating boiler and a hot water cylinder. These compact boilers are usually wall mounted in the kitchen. Combi boilers are popular in properties where space is limited because they negate the need for hot and cold water tanks. As the combi is often wall hung and does not require a tank or cylinder, it leaves you with more space in your airing cupboard and around your home. The downside is that because the hot water heats on demand it runs more slowly and thus means it takes longer to run a bath. Fitting costs may be lower and fitting is often less disruptive than with a conventional boiler. Unlike a traditional heating and hot water system which stores domestic hot water, a combi boiler system does not. Instead a combination boiler heats water directly from the cold mains as you use it. This means that you can reduce hot water costs which could account for up to 60% of your typical domestic fuel bill. A combi also supplies hot water at mains pressure, giving you exhilarating power showering without the need for a pump. On average, a shower uses considerably less water than a typical bath. This means that the savings on hot water costs and water consumption can be significant. A condensing combi boiler is more efficient due to its ability to extract more heat from the flue gases normally lost to the environment through the flue system. Worcester Worcester is a major producer of sustainable high efficiency heating and hot water solutions for the home. To find out more go to: http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk
IMPORTANT NOTICE New Government regulations (Part L) require that from the 1st of April 2005 all new boiler installations must be of the 'high efficiency' condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this law.
