Properties in Northern Ireland have the opportunity to see a heating system upgrade, with £2m of boiler grants issued through the Northern Ireland Sustainability Energy Programme. This fund will be made available to homes that are switching to gas.
Homeowners will be able to receive grants of £1,500 off the cost of converting to gas heating, as part of the ‘toasty homes’ scheme. On top of this, there will be an £800 grant towards other energy efficient upgrades, such as insulation and energy-saving light bulbs.
The financial support available with these boiler grants will ensure homeowners are able to cut their bills, whilst also reducing their property’s carbon footprint.
There are certain regulations to be able to apply for the scheme though, including the need to be a homeowner or living in private rented accommodation. You’ll also need to be using LPG, oil, solid fuel, Economy 7 or have no central heating at all.
